Celebrate a Choctaw
“Mississippi College has been one of my life’s greatest blessings so far. I have received a remarkable education while being invested in spiritually by many professors, faculty, and staff! If it weren’t for the countless donors who generously give to Mississippi College, I would not have the opportunity to attend such a wonderful institution. I am extremely grateful for the scholarships that were made available to me through the giving of so many!”—Mason Kennedy
As graduation quickly approaches, MC gets the opportunity to celebrate the success of our students as they embark on new chapters. Mason Kennedy, biology medical sciences major from Mendenhall, Mississippi, was recently accepted into medical school at the University of Mississippi. During his time at MC, he has been involved in the Student Experience as an orientation leader, scout, and Choctaw Ambassador, and he received academic scholarships that provided financial support to him while at MC.
Jonathan Nutt, Assistant Dean of Students, Office of Student Engagement, says, “Mason Kennedy is the type of young adult I’d like to see my children grow into. He is kind and hard-working, and he consistently puts the needs of those around him above his own. Mason has served within Student Engagement in a variety of ways—from being part of the Campus Programming Board to being Student Director of Welcome Week for new MC students. Our student teams have been fortunate to benefit from Mason’s leadership.”
